What to Ask When Looking for a Daycare or Boarding FacilityFAQ
What is their staff to dog ratio?
At Muttley Crüe Organics we pride ourselves in a minimum of two staff for the first 15 dogs and at least staff member for every 15 dogs after. More staff = superior supervision, more individual and one-on-one care and less chance of injury or altercations between the dogs. Are they staffed overnight?
Muttley Crüe Organics is staffed overnight and always has a second staff member on if our kennel free numbers are over 20 so that one person always remains if there’s ever a medical emergency. We are also fully equipped with a sprinkler system and built using only steel framing with top, current fire ratings. Do they have an outdoor yard?
Muttley Crüe Organics has a fully fenced, turfed yard that is attached to bay doors allowing free access to both inside and outside during the day. We clean the turf daily (weather permitting) using an environmentally friendly, enzymatic cleaner to prevent any odours or bacteria. Do they offer daily on-leash walking?
This is an essential service to both daycare and boarding dogs which allows dogs to get outside into a structured environment where they can see new surroundings and experience new smells. Muttley Crüe Organics offers 30 minute, on-leash walks for only $15 extra for daycare and boarding clients and free daily walks to all of our boarding guests with reservations 10 days or longer. What type of correction do they use?
Muttley Crüe Organics is NOT a training facility; we are a dog care facility for well socialized, happy dogs. To ensure the safety and well being of all dogs in our care we do not accept dogs who exhibit aggressive or dominant behaviours. We use only positive corrections; if dogs get over excited or over stimulated we hook them up to waist walkers and walk them around the daycare to refocus their energy, will give 30 second timeouts for unwanted behaviour or give 30-60 minute kennel rests to those dogs needing a break and outdoor on-leash walking to refocus and calm and excited energy. With focus on individual care, high staff to dog ratio and a facility that never over-books we are able to offer a structured play/break environment that is tailored to each individual dog. We do regular 2-hour training sessions with a certified behaviourists/trainer to keep all our staff current and up to date on the best in hands-free, positive corrections. Do they offer tours and do you need an appointment?
At Muttley Crüe, we offer tours anytime during business hours with no areas off-limits for viewing. 100% of our facility can be viewed at any time and all areas of the daycare and boarding can be viewed via webcams 24/7. Even our grooming area is up front and centre with viewing windows throughout allowing access to all areas including the bathing and drying room. Do they charge more for medications or special diets?
At Muttley Crüe, we believe that medications and special diets are part and parcel of care for any animal so we will never charge extra for medicine administration or raw/special diets. Are they webcammed?
In this day and age, there is no reason why any facility shouldn’t be offering the use of webcams. We pride ourselves on not only being fully webcammed but being the only facility in Calgary where the cameras never turn off. You can watch the care of your dog anytime day or night… we want our clients to have confidence that the care their dogs receive at Muttley Crüe is the best in the city and you’ll never just have to take our word for it! What types of products do they use?
All of our products used in-house are locally made, organic, chemical free and 100% safe for pooch and planet! We offer fully sealed, epoxied floors and never use mop buckets to clean up pee. Using towels and rags that are washed after every use means superior cleanliness, significantly less odour and dogs that also stay clean and stinky free! Do dogs get bedding or beds to lay on?
Our daycare is filled with beds and couches and dogs get squishy blankets to rest on while on kennel breaks. Bedding is washed daily to prevent the spread of parasites, viruses and bacteria. Additional Questions? |
